When we arrived, we sat on the terrace to enjoy the view, which made for a warm welcome to our first time in this amazing city. Our room was on the outside of the hotel, just to the side of the entrance. I was a little bummed we weren't in the hotel but it was fine when we got there. The view of Lyon is spectacular. Don't let the hill scare you either. You can easily walk down the hill into old town, take the metro back up, and walk to the hotel about 4 minutes on flat streets. We also had dinners in this beautiful, charming neighborhood with plentiful restaurants. Just be aware, it's a more French-speaking area than English-speaking, being a more local area. The dinner we had just up the road was one of our best dinners throughout our trip, with lemon ravioli, beef, and mushrooms, which was unforgettable. Don't forget to take the metro like we did throughout the city, which makes getting around easier than by foot or taxi.

We loved this place so much. The staff was excellent, a massive shout out to Isabella. She organized our two-day stay in 15 minutes. She helped us with food reservations, and both restaurants were splendid. We really wanted to visit the chateau but didn’t pre-book anything, and on such short notice, she sorted the reservation out. Because of her, our whole trip to Bordeaux worked out well, and we will remember it forever. The hotel was very clean and tidy. The location is amazing, a 10-minute walk to the city center. I really do not have a single complaint about the place. A massive thank you, and we will come back.

Beautiful boutique hotel with wonderful staff. We stayed in the old stables, in a nice big, comfortable room. Bed was great, shower had good pressure, room was air conditioned. There are nice amenities in the immediate vacinity (e.g. boulangeries, a wonderful public park) and the tram stop is about a 3 minute walk away. Trams run frequently and are well connected. 1 or 2 stops will get you to central Bordeaux (walkable also). The hotel can arrange parking very close by on the same street in a secure underground car park. Very convenient.

We liked Isabelle. She knew the city, made excellent recommendations in regard to restaurants, and she showed me ancient Roman ruins which were down the street. She made reservations for us at restaurants that the locals patronized. The recommendations were the best! And...here's where Isabelle was really a star and saved us from frustration: when a railroad strike broke out after we already had tickets on SCFN, she helped us rent a car to Paris, which was our destination. She did this for several other families at the same time.

Newly decorated ancient hotel was super comfortable; had very nice AC (during a hot visit); had bottles of cold water in the mini fridge; offered a wonderful, healthy display for breakfast; absolutely the best staff accommodating every ask or wish; super(!) comfy bed and pillows and the location was on a quiet street just 7-9 blocks away from everything interesting. A convenience store 2 blks away too. Oh! And the bath products were delightful! Oh! And a lovely, lovely garden patio to eat or just lounge.
